New mum Inca, the red titi monkey, takes a break this Mother’s Day!

Belfast Zoo is celebrating the birth of a tiny red titi monkey. The latest arrival was born to mum, Inca and dad, Aztec, on 26 January 2018. However, Inca will be having a relaxing Mother’s Day while Aztec has his hands full, as male titi monkeys play a very active role in parenting and are the main childcare providers! Belfast Zoo says thank you for all the ‘tree-mendous’ donations!

The January blues were nowhere to be seen at Belfast Zoo last month.  After Christmas the zoo put out a call for the public to donate their natural Christmas trees to be used for animal enrichment and were overwhelmed with the response when several hundred trees arrived! (photo: Belfast Zoo)
